What is a Sprint?

A Sprint is one timeboxed iteration of a continuous development cycle. A Sprint is planned by the team, prioritizing and making sure that all the tasks and work that will be completed adds value to the product or business, and potentially it can be released to production during the same Sprint.

A new Sprint starts immediately after the conclusion of the previous Sprint. The duration of a Sprint is defined by the team, usually teams define a duration of up to 2-4 weeks.

The term Sprint was adopted in the meaning of a short race at full speed. The full team is focused on certain tasks and the goal is to finish all the tasks that were planned for that Sprint.
